Scope: Mailer
The aim was to create a mailer that would promote an upcoming event within the arts. I displayed some of my artwork in a small gallery in Georgetown, DC called MOCA DC. The theme of the month in the gallery was “Heads and Tails.” My first step was to do research and see if there were any specific colors that I should incorporate; magenta, cyan and white was the color combination used on their website. I also knew that I wanted to create something that would break the grid and work with diagonals to be less traditional. I used a photographic image as a resource to create the figure of a woman by using only shades of hot pink. The texture in the background was created using Photoshop and the layout for the final piece was created using In design.
